"A Year of Abstraction" is a collection of songs written during a period of Steinberg's life where abstract ideas of time, love and restlessness is stuck. Following the emotional scenes in Act I and II of "Be My Love," the EP shows both a more serene and folky side of Klaptrae on "Soffie" and "Someone Else," while embracing higher layers of the atmosphere on breathtaking songs like "Answers", "Wide" and Act I & II of "Be My Love".
